Students are admitted to the two-year MPD Program of approximately thirty students. New cohorts begin each Fall Quarter. All of the students take the same set of courses.
Admission Requirements
• A minimum of three years of work experience in technical or product development field.
In addition to the submission of a technical or product development portfolio. For admission to the program, the applicant must submit evidence that he or she is likely to achieve at Northwestern University.
• An undergraduate degree in engineering or a related scientific or technical field is preferred.
It is preferred that applicants to the Master of Product Development (MPD) program have an undergraduate degree in engineering or science, but individuals with other quantitatively based degrees and/or appropriate work experience will be given serious consideration.
• A letter of recommendation from the applicant's employer
Following acceptance is required attesting to the employer's understanding of the schedule and academic requirements of the program.
• A Personal Interview with the MPD Director (after application submission)
Note: Sponsoring companies may have additional requirements.An interview with the program Director must be conducted before the application is considered complete.
• Transcripts
All colleges and universities attended must be listed on the application form, whether or not a degree has been, or is expected to be earned, and an official transcript from each institution must be filed with the application. An official transcript bears the original signature of the registrar and/or the issuing institution. Unofficial transcripts are helpful for preliminary evaluation, but they are not acceptable for admission. |
